Universal Orlando raises one-day theme park admission to $92

The cost of a one-day, one-park ticket to Universal Orlando has gone up three bucks to $92, plus tax. The increase made over the weekend makes Universal the first Orlando theme park to top the $90 threshold. Tickets for children ages 3 to 9 jumped to $86, plus tax. This is the second year in a row that Universal has rolled out price increases that put it ahead of Disney World. Universal has enjoyed a big attendance boost thanks to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and on June 20 is opening a major new ride based on the Transformers toys and movies. Disney's one-day, one-park price remains $89 but who knows how long that will stay. SeaWorld Orlando also raised its ticket price to $89, but officials have said they have no plans to raise admission again, even amid Friday's opening of the Antarctica penguin attraction, the largest expansion in SeaWorld's history.

  1. Bar review: The Landing at Jannus in St. Petersburg

    Bars & Spirits

I've spent many evenings in St. Pete's Jannus Live courtyard, enjoying one of the best open-air venues in the Tampa Bay area. It's where I saw my first concert in Florida: Toadies, on the Rubberneck tour sometime in the mid '90s.

The drinks at the Landing at Jannus in St. Petersburg are about as cheap as you’ll find at any other regular downtown bar, a nice surprise.

Two Henrys Brewing Company is a unique entity in the Tampa Bay brewing scene, due to both its status as the only brewery in Plant City, as well as its location on a 27-acre working farm, which also includes a winery.
