Wet 'n Wild will add a 6-story racing slide this summer

The Orlando water park Wet 'n Wild is adding a new a four-lane racing ride, the attraction announced Tuesday, where riders will race on mats on the Aqua Drag Racer.

It is scheduled to open this summer, but no firm opening date has been determined, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.

The start of the ride is six stories tall and feeds into enclosed chutes that twist around each other. Then riders, traveling head first, will be ejected into the open-air portion of the slide. Guests will be traveling 15 feet per second, a news release said.

Florida resident can get a yearly pass deal at the water park to pay for a day for $56 and have unlimited access with no blackout dates through Dec. 31. Or Florida residents can get a single-day ticket discount of $36 for one day. Tickets are available at Wetnwildorlando.com.
