New art shows open in St. Petersburg

The Cool Art Show isn't the only creative event during the weekend. Many downtown St. Petersburg galleries are open with new shows, including ARTicles Gallery, 1445 Central Ave., with paintings by Emily Barnes, shown, through Aug. 6. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Bluelucy Gallery, 653 Central Ave., opens a large group show with entertainment and an ice cream cone party (from Dairy Inn, yum!) from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday. (727) 251-8529.
