See John Logan play 'Red' at Studio@620

The acclaimed John Logan play Red opens today at the Studio@620, 620 First Ave. S, St. Petersburg, and continues through Saturday. It dramatizes a two-year period during which the great abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko worked on a series commissioned by the fabled Four Seasons restaurant in New York. It takes place in Rothko's studio with him and a fictional assistant creating the art as they discuss and argue over art theory. It's riveting! Admission is $20, $10 students and seniors. For tickets go to studio620.org or call (727) 895-6620.

It's been FOREVER since we had former MTV veejay and all-around '80s queen Martha Quinn on the Stuck in the '80s podcast! Eight years at least! So we're super jazzed to say Martha rejoins us this week to talk about everything '80s.

  5. These days, don't hit the theme park without an app and a phone charger

    Florida

Emile Crawford stocks two back-up phone battery chargers these days when she takes her kids to Disney World. But she dare not venture into a theme park without a smart phone app, an accessory becoming as necessary as sunscreen in Florida theme parks.

It also lets you pay for food so you don't have to carry a wallet and opens lockers so you don't have to carry a key. (Universal via AP)
