It’s the last week before school starts for students in the Tampa Bay area and it’s promising to be a sunny one with a low chance of rain. As summer begins to wind down, it’s going to be a great week to get out and enjoy the sunshine.
Monday begins with clear skies, and temperatures will quickly rise to around 90 by noon with highs reaching 93 with just a 20 percent of chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
EXTENDED FORECAST: The 10-day outlook for the Tampa Bay area
The reduced rain chances — at or near 20 percent for the rest of the week — can be attributed to a drier air mass that’s moving east from the Atlantic, forecasters said. Those easterly winds are also helping to limit the rain chances into the late afternoon and evening, though humidity will remain high.

Overnight skies will remain relatively clear with temperatures dropping back to around the mid 70s.
Expect similar conditions Tuesday, with highs in the low 90s under bright sunshine.
Drier air moving into the area will limit thunderstorm chances this afternoon and evening, especially over the Nature Coast. #FLwx pic.twitter.com/cIiT7vSQBE
