We’re looking at partly cloudy skies sweeping into the Tampa Bay region weekend, and predicted evening showers on Sunday could send those Super Bowl backyard barbecues back into the house.
A cold front coming from the north has increased the cloud cover for Friday. Expect a mix of sunshine and cloud cover throughout the morning and even more overcast skies by the afternoon, 10Weather WTSP metorologist Grant Gilmore said.
There could be a few isolated showers north of I-4, Gilmore said, but temperatures should stick to the low 70s all afternoon.
Saturday would be a good day to try out one of Laura Reiley’s 50 Best Restaurants of Tampa Bay. After the cold front disperses Saturday morning, the day should be slightly cloudy with a high in the low 70s.
By Sunday, some storm systems will develop in the Gulf of Mexico and start moving east. It should bring rain in through the afternoon and perhaps Monday morning. The rain will begin to clear up Monday morning and give way to a mostly sunny week. Throughout next week we can expect temperatures to stay in the mid-70s, Gilmore said.
