Forecast: High humidity fuels searing conditions across Tampa Bay

The chance for afternoon showers remain low as Tampa Bay experiences another hot and humid June day. Seems like it may be a good day to head over to the beach, with warm water and a lot of sunshine.

While afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s, the high humidity will drive feels-like temperatures into the low 90s. Some inland showers could form as the coastal breeze runs into the inland heat, according to the National Weather Service.

Overnight, temperatures should drop to the upper 70s and drier air will negate any leftover clouds from Tuesday afternoon, forecasters said.

EXTENDED FORECAST: The 10-day outlook for the Tampa Bay area

A brittle cold front will shift its way into the area by Wednesday afternoon, increasing the chance of rain. Expect to see some increased thunderstorm or rain activity across the area, especially inland away from the coast.

Wednesday’s temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 80s and overnight temperatures will fall to the mid 70s, forecasters said.

The chance of rain will continue increasing later in the week as the cold front dissipates over the area. Expect to see afternoon showers over the weekend and hot temperatures in the upper 80s.

Many of the showers will be pushed inland by the coastal breeze, shifting the coverage area even wider over Tampa Bay.
