Tampa Bay Weather

Forecast: Pleasant sunshine into weekend for Tampa Bay, but Sunday thunderstorms ahead

Today should be a little warmer and a bit drier than Wednesday as Tampa Bay continues to enjoy a mostly sunny end of the week.

After a few intense thunderstorms on Tuesday left little humidity around the bay area, Thursday should see a perfectly dry, breezy day with plenty of sunshine, according to the National Weather Service.

By early afternoon, temperatures should reach around 82 with a nice easterly wind, forecasters said.

That wind direction may shift from the southeast, which would generate increased humidity. Temperatures should rise to the mid-to-upper 80s, and with that added moisture, there is a small chance for some scattered showers across interior sections of the area, forecasters said.

Saturday will continue this trend. Temperatures will stick in the upper 80s with a nice southeasterly breeze.

Another cold front will drive storms over Tampa Bay on Sunday, with rain chances at 70 percent. Those rains should clear the way for cooler temperatures at the beginning of next week, forecasterss aid.
