I started at the Times in 2002 in Pasco County, covering religion and crime (which intersected more than you might think). I also wrote about the courts and local government before becoming the editor in Pasco. I did a stint with PolitiFact, covering the 2012 presidential election, and led the Times online report as an editor in Tampa. Along the way, I got married and had two sons and watched my parents grow older. As a member of the editorial board, I focus on the concerns of women and families and how policy makers can make life a little better for them.
