Thomas Lake has been a general assignment reporter in the Tampa bureau of the St. Petersburg Times since November 2007. Before moving to Tampa he covered crime from the paper's Port Richey bureau. He grew up in Georgia and upstate New York, graduated from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., in 2001, and started his journalism career at The Press-Sentinel, a twice-weekly in Jesup, Ga. From there he went on to the Salem News in Massachusetts and the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville before joining the St. Petersburg Times in 2006.
