Mike Wilson, Times Staff Writer
Mike Wilson is the Assistant Managing Editor/Newsfeatures at the St. Petersburg Times, responsible for the newspaper's feature sections. Before becoming an editor, he won national and regional awards for feature writing, and in 1998 was part of a three-person team whose reporting on a corrupt Baptist minister was a finalist for the Pulitzer for investigative reporting. Wilson came to the Times in 1995 after 12 years as a writer and editor at the Miami Herald. He has written two books, Right on the Edge of Crazy (1993), about the U.S. downhill ski team, and The Difference Between God and Larry Ellison (1997), about the chief executive of Oracle Corporation. A native of Connecticut, he graduated from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., in 1983.
