Philip Gailey,
Editor of Editorials

Philip Gailey joined the Times in 1987 as Washington bureau chief and became editor of editorials in 1991. He was named a vice president of the company in 1997 and also serves on the board of directors of Times Publishing Co.

A native of Homer, Ga., Gailey began his newspaper career as a reporter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and went on to work at the Miami Herald, the Washington Star and the Washington bureau of the New York Times. During those stints, Gailey covered the White House, Congress, national politics and general assignments. In May 2006, Gailey was appointed to the International Press Institute American Committee board of directors.
