Helen Huntley is the personal finance editor and a columnist for the St. Petersburg Times. She joined the staff more than 30 years ago after getting her bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Florida. She also has a master's degree in political science from the University of South Florida. Helen writes about investments, income taxes, personal finance and the economy.

She has taken business courses, including the educational program required of Certified Financial Planners. She is a member of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers and has been active in her church and community groups.

A native Floridian who grew up in Dunedin, Helen is married and has two adult children. She enjoys working out, cheering for the Gators, hiking and music.
