    NBC's newest comedy gives the spotlight to a 60-something Chicos-loving helicopter mom.

    And it's funny. Very funny. 

    Great News, boasting Tina Fey as an executive producer, follows Katie (Briga Heelan), an ambitious young news producer for The Breakdown, a cable news show out of New Jersey.

    Now 30, Katie is feeling stuck in her career and life, but remains incredibly close to her mom Carol (Andrea Martin), who's also looking for a change in her retirement years....

  4. Review: Hulu's 'The Handmaid's Tale' poignantly adapts Margaret Atwood's story

    The relevance of The Handmaid's Tale isn't lost on anyone. And the television adaptation of Margaret Atwood's famous dystopian novel is here to remind us, to quote the book: Don't let the bastards grind you down.

    The series premieres Wednesday on Hulu and tells the story of Offred (Elisabeth Moss), a designated Handmaid in the totalitarian Republic of Gilead.

    The series is a poignant adaptation of Atwood's story, deftly building upon the world the author created with freshness, yet retaining many of the same scorching scenes and resilient characters....

    Robot roll call: Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return

    It's been almost 20 years since Mystery Science Theater 3000  went off the air. But after a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, raising more than $5 million, MST3K makes its triumphant return Friday with brand new episodes and even more B-movies to riff on. Since the show's premiere in 1988, the 10-season series has retained a cult following. The revival finds a home on Netflix, a solid choice in the era of binge-watching. Like the original, The Return centers around a man (Jonah Ray) and his three robots - Tom Servo (Baron Vaughn), Crow (Hampton Yount) and Gypsy (Rebecca Hanson) - who are trapped by two mad scientists (Felicia Day and Patton Oswalt) and forced to watch terrible movies. They stay sane by ad-libbing and spewing witty one-liners about the films they watch. Mystery Science Theater 3000 is back this weekend, and it's campier than ever. Now available on Netflix....

The 10-episode docuseries chronicles the life of Playboy founder Hefner (played by Matt Whelan) using more than 17,000 hours of footage and 2,600 scrapbooks from Hefner's collection. The series is a mixture of re-enactments and archival footage. It begins in post-war America, taking viewers through the debut of Playboy magazine in 1953 and six decades of its creator's life and career. Now streaming on Amazon....
