Alec Baldwin's days of playing Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live appear to be numbered.

The actor, whose guest appearances on the late-night sketch series have inspired some critical tweets from the president himself, told Extra host Mario Lopez that his impersonation might be starting to wear on people who are genuinely concerned.

"His policies aside, which you can hate, I thought he would have just relaxed." Baldwin said of what he sees as Trump's continued lack of "sportsmanship" when it comes to jokes poking fun at him. "The maliciousness of this White House has people worried... that's why I'm not going to do it much longer, the impersonation, I don't know how much more people can take it."

Baldwin also said it's unlikely he'll play Trump at the upcoming White House Correspondent's Dinner, the one Trump said he won't attend, becoming the first president to skip the event in decades.

Baldwin told Reuters just this week that the Trump impersonation has revived the comedic aspect of his career, which languished after he stopped playing Jack Donaghy on the sitcom 30 Rock.

The big question in all of this? Who is going to play Trump on Saturday Night Live when Baldwin hangs up his wispy wig.

The boring choice might be former cast member (and current announcer) Darrell Hammond, whose Bill Clinton is legendary, and whose Trump rivals Baldwin's.

Beck Bennett or Kate McKinnon could probably have done it, but they're busy playing Mike Pence and Vladimir Putin, and Kellyanne Conway and Jeff Sessions, respectively.

One thing is for sure, based on the sketch below, don't rule out Leslie Jones or Vanessa Bayer.
