We suggested yesterday that Alex Sink would be wise to forget about taking on David Jolly again in November and instead wait until 2016. Well, she didn't like that suggestion, according to Wake Forest University's student newspaper, Old, Gold & Black:
Alumna and trustee Alex Sink ('70) told the Old Gold & Black April 10 that she will not run for Congress in 2016 "unless [she's] running as the incumbent [in Fla.'s 13th Congressional district), ruling out the possibility of postponing a run for two years.
Sink, a democrat who served as the state's chief financial officer, was the party's nominee for governor in 2010, narrowly losing to republican Rick Scott. Last month, Sink ran in the special election for the state's 13th congressional district which was vacated with the death of Rep. Bill Young, who represented the district for 40 years.
"I'm not running in 2016, I will say that," Sink said, calling the decision "definitive."....
