Anyone remember the first big-ish tune from Dead or Alive?

A full year before You Spin Me Round became the summer dance smash of 1985, Dead or Alive was startling U.S. viewers with their unique look and edgy videos like I'd Do Anything.

While not traditionally scary, Dead or Alive was unlike anything I'd ever seen before in 1984 with their video for I'd Do Anything. With Peter Burns androgynous looks, reverberated vocals and the other band members (and girls in shorts?) standing in a cult-like formation, I'd Do Anything freaked out a teenage me when it appeared on MTV. The song was a minor hit in the UK, but it wasn't until the next year that You Spin Me Round broke the band worldwide and we finally learned that Pete Burns was harmless as kittens.

Dead or Alive continued releasing records until 2000 and broke up for good (we'll see) in 2011.
