ALLEY, ERIC J., 32, of Atlanta, formerly of Tampa, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990) in Tampa. He was born in Tampa and moved to Atlanta eight years ago. He was a restaurant chef. Survivors include his parents, Norman and Virginia, Tampa; a brother, Michael, San Diego;three sisters, Sharon Hetrick, Lansing, Mich., Kathy, Tampa, and Vicki Boyle, Conyers, Ga. CARR, ELSA, 84, of Tampa, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990) in Tampa.

She was born in Ionia, Iowa, and came here in 1967. Survivors include a son, Vernon C., Tampa; two sisters, Wilma Davidson, Charles City, Iowa, and Ruth Hausman, Iowa; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Curry & Son Funeral Home, Tampa.

COLEY, AGNES LOUISE, 73, of Brandon, died Friday (Feb. 9, 1990) at Humana Hospital Brandon. She was born in Colquitt County, Ga. She was a member of Funston Baptist Church in Funston, Ga. Survivors include three sons, Gary R., Albany, Ga., Stanley L., Statham, Ga., and Valter Lee, Moultrie, Ga.; four daughters, Mary C. Daughtry, Pelham, Ga., Loretta C. Lipsey, Brandon, Kaye C. Parham, Evans, Ga., and Cleone C. DELGADO, SAMUEL A. ROMAN, 36, of Tampa, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990). He was born in Puerto Rico and came here 10 months ago. He was a professor at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. Survivors include his parents, Carlos Roman Ruiz and Aida Delgado Figueroa, Tampa; two brothers, Carlos J. DeWALT, MARGARET F., 87, of Tampa, died Friday (Feb. 9, 1990) at home. She was born in Cleveland and came to Tampa 53 years ago. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Leonore V. Blose and Marjorie DeVeau, both of Tampa; a brother, William Sweeney; two sisters, Loretta Majka and Katherine Reed, both of Dunkirk, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. F.T. DURK, EDWARD JOSEPH, 77, of Tampa, died Friday (Feb. 9, 1990). He was born in Forest City, Pa., and came here in 1982 from Madison, Ohio.

He was a restaurant owner and a member of the Union of Operating Engineers. Survivors include his wife, Bertha; a son, Stanley, Saudi Arabia; three daughters, Elaine Price, Tampa, Sally Slovenec, Columbus, Ohio, and Sonja Holy, Thompson, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Walker and Margaret Ault, both of Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. FOX, WILLARD L., 79, of Valrico, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990) at Humana Hospital Brandon. He was born in Broken Arrow, Okla., and came here three years ago from Dallas. He was a printer for Tulsa World newspaper for 35 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received four Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Wanda; a son, Willard Jr., Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, Suzann Trusan, Broken Arrow, and Mary Phillips, Valrico; a brother, Robert, Broken Arrow; and a sister, Edith Warden, Tulsa.

HAMILTON, HAROLD D. "VERN" JR., 38, of Tampa, died Sunday (Feb. 11, 1990). He was a lifelong resident of Tampa. He was a printer.

HANIGAN, AUDREY W., 60, of Tampa, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990). She was born in Far Rockaway, N.Y., and came here in 1972. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the Temple Terrace Garden Club and the WUSF Radio Reading Service. Survivors include her husband, Philip;

JOHNSON, RICHARD G., 51, of Tampa, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990). He was born in Albany, N.Y., and came here 30 years ago. He was employed by Florida Crushed Stone Inc. of Leesburg. Survivors include his wife, Marlene G.; two sons, Richard, Tampa, and Michael, Connecticut; two stepsons, Lawrence Allen and Scott Allen, both of Tampa; and a sister, Queenie Sammons, Albany, N.Y. LAMBERT, JOSEPH VanHILL, 77, of Apollo Beach, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990) at South Bay Hospital, Sun City Center. He was born in Jasper, Ga., and came here in 1961 from Hazlehurst, Ga. He was a member of Simmons Loop Baptist Church in Riverview and a construction laborer for Miller Brothers in Tampa for 12 years. Survivors include a son, William L., Apollo Beach; a daughter, Lucy Shalata, Noxen, Pa.; three brothers, Howard, Cartersville, Ga., and W.A. and Henry, both of Hazlehurst; three sisters, Gladys Lambert, Hazlehurst, Ruth Sears, Alma, Ga., and Lois Mixon, Webster; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. LEE, VELIA LAZZARA, 79, of Tampa, died Friday (Feb. 9, 1990) at Centro Asturiano Hospital. She was born in Tampa and was a retired clerical worker for Hillsborough County. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Jimmie Lee, Tampa;

LOCKE, JIM BENNETT, 89, of Tampa, died Friday (Feb. 9, 1990) at home. He was born in Jackson County, Tenn., and came to Tampa 42 years ago from Greenbrier, Tenn. He was a retired employee of DuPont of Hickory, Tenn., and was an auto dealer in Tampa. He was a 50-year member of Western Star Lodge 0009 F&AM in Springfield, Tenn. Survivors include a son, Jim B. MAY, DEAN A., 53, of Tampa, died Sunday (Feb. 11, 1990) at University Community Hospital. He was born in Akron, Ohio, and came here in 1969. MERRIETT, JOAN PEELE, 49, of Tampa, died Sunday (Feb. 11, 1990) at University Community Hospital. She was born in Pittston, Pa., and came here 21 years ago from North Carolina. She was a licensed practical nurse with Tampa Health Center and a Catholic. Survivors include a son, Scott Peele, Tampa; three daughters, Debbie Peele, Dawn LaMora and Maryann Cullinan, all of Tampa; her father, Emil Zering, Tampa; two brothers, Robert Schmieg and Edward Zering, both of Connecticut; a sister, Judy Jones, Minnesota; and four grandchildren. MESSINA, LOUIS N. "LOU," 65, of Lutz, died Monday (Feb. 12, 1990) at University Community Hospital. He was born in Hoboken, N.J., and came to Lutz 30 years ago. He was a manager for a floor maintenance equipment manufacturer and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Helen; a son, Louis N., Lutz; three daughters, Gizella M. NELSON, OSCAR, 88, of Lutz, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990) at University Community Hospital. He was born in West Virginia and came here 41 years ago. He was a chauffeur for a limousine service and a member of Livingston Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Helen; five sons, William O. and Lewis, both of Tampa, John C., Jacksonville, James L., Georgia, and Bobby, North Carolina; five daughters, Lena F. Roberts, Brooksville, Mary C. NEWMAN, PAUL L., 82, of Brandon, died Sunday (Feb. 11, 1990) at Humana Hospital Brandon. He was born in Swainsboro, Ga., and came here 74 years ago. He was a member of Brandon Assembly of God and was a water well driller, retiring in 1979 from South Florida Engineers.

Survivors include three sons, Paul Arnold, Land O'Lakes, Roland R., Tampa, and Richard L., Brandon; a daughter, Nancy Krull, Lake Alfred;

OUTLAW, THOMAS W. "T.W." II, 65, of Plant City, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990) at South Florida Baptist Hospital. He was born in Georgia and came to Plant City from Lakeland 54 years ago. He was a complex operator in the phosphate industry and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include three sons, Thomas III, Barney and Benji, all of Plant City; two daughters, Millie Outlaw and Renee Lorenzana, both of Plant City; a brother, Carlton, Dothan, Ala.; three sisters, Eunice McGowan, Land O'Lakes, Florience Sapp, Tampa, and Myrtle Harrison, Plant City; and 12 grandchildren. PRICE, JAMES, 54, of Lutz, died Saturday (Feb. 10, 1990) at home. He was born in Philadelphia and came here in September 1989 from Lubbock, Texas. He was an ophthalmologist and a member of Tims Memorial Presbyterian Church. SPINKS, LURA JANE, 81, of Sydney, died Monday (Feb. 12, 1990) at home. She was a lifelong resident of Sydney. She was a shrimp peeler and a member of First Baptist Church of Sydney. THOMAS, SAMA PHILLIPS, 84, of Tampa, died Sunday (Feb. 11, 1990).

She was born in Charleston, Miss., and came here in 1950. She was an English teacher at Plant High School for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Tampa and the Amaryllis Garden Club. Survivors include a son, Dr. George Phillips Thomas, Tampa; a daughter, Jan Thomas Johnston, Statesboro, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Curry & Son Funeral Home, Tampa.

WATKINS, HILTON GERALD SR., 75, of Plant City, died Monday (Feb. 12, 1990). He was born in Hopewell and was a lifelong area resident. He was a farmer and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
