About the section

REPORTING: Joe Frank began covering business in Pasco County for the St. Petersburg Times in 1988. Before coming to the Times he covered business and wrote features for The Ledger in Lakeland, and was an overnight police reporter for the City News Bureau of Chicago. He is a 1986 graduate from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn. While construction and agriculture remain two top pillars of the Pasco economy, others are evolving as pillars of the 1990s. Among them are small business; locally owned banks; service industries;

manufacturing, particularly small manufacturers who have a stake in Pasco County; medical services; and retail stores.
