A 15-year-old Lacoochee boy was arrested Tuesday and charged withstabbing a classmate in the wrist with a pocketknife at Pasco Middle School, according to a Pasco Sheriff's Office report.
The victim, about 12 or 13 years old, suffered a superficial cut to his arm, Sheriff's Office spokesman Jon Powers said. The 15-year-old, whose name was not released because of his age, was arrested after the incident and later released to a parent, the report said.
The incident happened about noon Tuesday at the school. The older boy got into an argument with the victim, then pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed him in the left wrist. The boy was read his rights and decided to wait for his mother to come to school before he made any statement.
Sheriff's Deputy Vivian Davenport interviewed principal Lawrence Albano about the incident, and when Albano said that the boy had told him he had pulled out the knife, the boy spoke up and said, "I pulled the knife and cut him."

A Tampa man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of molesting a 3-year-old boy.
David Dorman Charlton, 30, of 13901 Florida Ave. G101A, was charged with lewd and lascivious acts, according to a Pasco Sheriff's Office report.
On Jan. 20, the child's mother left the boy with Charlton at the Wagon Wheel Trailer Park off U.S. 41 in north-central Pasco, the report said. When she returned, she noticed her son was behaving strangely. When she asked him what happened, he told her Charlton had molested him. Another boy, 4, said he saw the incident, the report said.
Charlton's roommate said he found Charlton in bed with the child and kicked him out of the trailer, according to the report.
Charlton was being held at the West Pasco Detention Center on Wednesday afternoon in lieu of $15,000 bail.
Sexual battery charge filed against man
HUDSON - A Hudson man was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with sexually assaulting a woman the previous day.
Bobby Gene Andrew, 34, of 6822 Gull Lane, was charged with sexual battery, according to a Pasco Sheriff's Office report.
Andrew is accused of entering the victim's home, putting a pillow over her head and assaulting her, the report said.
Andrew was being held in the West Pasco Detention Center on Wednesday afternoon in lieu of $15,000 bail.
Man accused of stealing pool cues
DADE CITY - The theft of eight pool cues and a rack worth $960 landed a Dade City man in jail Wednesday on charges of burglary, grand theft and criminal mischief.
Troy Oliver, 19, was accused of the early Tuesday burglary of Kiefer's Sporting Goods in Dade City after a sheriff's dog led police officers to Oliver's house, Police Chief Phil Thompson said.
The property was recovered.
