Center to be named for county attorney

- The Legal Center of Hillsborough County will be renamed in honor ofFrederick B. Karl, Hillsborough County attorney and former Florida Supreme Court justice at a ceremony at 3 p.m. Feb. 23 at 725 E Kennedy Blvd. The ceremony will be in the de la Parte and Gilbert parking lot next to the legal center. The renaming honors Karl for his commitment to law, government and public service. A reception will follow the ceremony. The event is being sponsored by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners.

Sun City Center man may run for House TAMPA - A Sun City Center Republican may try tounseat state Rep. S.L. "Spud" Clements Jr., D-Brandon. Jack Schick, president of the Sun City Center Republican Club, is considering challenging Clements after being approached Tuesday by Hillsborough County Republican Party leaders during a fund-raiser at the Tampa Club. Schick, 70, moved to Sun City Center from Michigan three years ago. Clements has represented House District 62 since 1980.
