Largo man appointed to seat on Indian Rocks Fire District INDIAN ROCKS BEACH - Benert Rubin has been appointed to an at-large commission seat on the Indian Rocks Fire District, said Pat Stryker, secretary to the commission. Rubin of Largo was one of three applicants vying for the position, which had belonged to Commissioner Frank Morris. Morris recently was appointed to the seat representing Indian Rocks Beach, which Commissioner Ralph Finke vacated to run for mayor of Indian Rocks Beach. Rubin's experience includes 10 years as a board member or chairman of the South Blooming Grove Fire District in New York, Stryker said. Besides Rubin, two people applied for the volunteer post: Kris Robinson of Indian Rocks Beach and Terrence Siple of Largo. Rubin's term expires in January, Stryker said. An election will be in November to determine who will take over the seat for the next four years.
