The man walked into the pawnshop Tuesday afternoon and asked to look at a shotgun. But when the owner gave it to him, the man loaded it and used it to rob the store. Pasco sheriff's deputies gave this report: About 4 p.m., a man walked into Gold Coast Jewelry and Pawn at 15919 U.S. 19 in Hudson. He asked the owner if he could look at a 20-gauge shotgun. The owner handed the gun to the man.
The man then loaded the gun with shells hewas carrying and pointed it at the owner, demanding money. The man ran from the store with a small amount of money and the shotgun.
But the owner wasn't about to let the man off so easily. The owner grabbed a gun and followed the man to the parking lot. Then the man, standing near a two-tone tan van, pointed the shotgun at the owner.
The owner fired at the man, hitting the van behind the driver's door. The man jumped into the van and drove off, heading south on U.S. 19.
Deputies described the man as white, about 35 years old, clean-shaven, and wearing a long-sleeved, light-colored shirt and blue pants. He was driving the late-model two-tone van.
