Surplus food is now available

Surplus food is being made available to Florida families affected by the Christmas freeze through the state Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. While the food is intended primarily for families who do not qualify for food stamps, those who receive food stamps may obtain limited quantities of most food items. Foods available include butter, flour, cornmeal, egg mix, peanut butter, canned pork, beans and canned fruit juice. For information and to find out where to go to pick up food rations, call one of the area social service agencies listed below.
