LaBrecque elected arts center president

Edward C. LaBrecque has been elected president of the Palm Harbor ArtsCenter and chairman of its board of directors and executive committee.

LaBrecque replaces Dale A. Wenzelburger, who had been president for nearly two years.

LaBrecque, a Palm Harbor certified public accountant, will spend much of his time on plans to acquire and remodel a 5.5-acre property at the north end of Lake Tarpon on Keystone Road, according to an arts center news release.

The first project LaBrecque plans to embark upon will be a major

fund-raising drive to collect enough money to buy the ranch.

Arts center officials earlier this month announced a "six-figure" donation and said they planned to purchase a ranch at the north end of Lake Tarpon.

The arts center plans to call the area "The Artist's Ranch at Lake Tarpon" and will display art and hold classes at the site.
