TAMPA - A 32-year-old man beat up his half brother Wednesday night after an argument over the volume of the stereo, police said. William Earl Ellis punched Walter Waters, then banged him against the wall and kicked him in the face at their home at 1714 E Fryerson Ave., police said. Waters, 47, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with broken bones in his face. He was in fair but stable condition Thursday. Police arrested Ellis and charged him with aggravated battery. He was being held at Hillsborough County jail on $5,000 bond. 2 men robbed while making night deposit TAMPA - Two men were robbed as they made a night deposit Wednesday night, police said. Travis Beckwith, 19, and Jamie Valenti, 11, were making a money drop from Athletic Attic in Westshore Plaza to South East Bank at 4950 W Kennedy Ave. when they were confronted by a man in his 20s. The man, armed with a semi-automatic .38 caliber chrome handgun, ordered Valenti to drop his money bag and leave the area.
Beckwith and Valenti fled in a car as the suspect picked up the bag and fled.
