NEW YORK - ABC, which in 1988 revived the Mission Impossible series that CBS aired from 1966 to 1973, said Wednesday it is taking that low-rated show off the air and replacing it with a series called H.E.L.P. Mission Impossible, a Saturday series, is being put on "hiatus," ABC said, and will have its last broadcast tonight. H.E.L.P, about a New York emergency unit made up of police officers, firefighters and paramedics, will premiere March 3. Its initials stand for Harlem Eastside Lifesaving Program.
NBC this season began a similar series, True Blue, which airs Fridays and is about a police emergency unit.
