Boy threatens girl with sharp metal star

THONOTOSASSA - A 9-year-old boy was arrested Thursday after he threatened to hurt another child with a Ninja throwing star, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said. The child, whose name was not released, was walking in a park off Main Street in Thonotosassa about 3:30 p.m. when he threatened to throw the sharp metal star at an 11-year-old friend, scaring her. An adult saw the threat and called deputies. After being charged with one count of aggravated assault, the child was released into his parent's custody. Two gunmen rob convenience store TAMPA - Two men robbed a convenience store at gunpoint early Friday, pausing before their escape to grab a 12-pack of beer, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report. The pair walked into the Circle K store at 1202 E Skipper Road at 4:36 a.m., pointed a blue steel revolver at the 22-year-old clerk and demanded money from the register. One man was described as a Hispanic male with black hair and a mustache, 6 feet, 180 pounds, 24 or 25 years old, wearing blue jeans and a brown windbreaker. The other man, who was holding the gun, was a black male with a mustache, about 27 years old, 5-feet-10, 160 pounds, wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a baseball cap.

Brandon man treated for stab wounds BRANDON - A 19-year-old Brandon man was in stable condition Friday after being stabbed in the stomach by a friend, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said. Timothy Parker, 328 W Wheeler Road, was at home about 8 p.m. Thursday when he got into an argument with a friend. Deputies said the friend stabbed Parker in the stomach. He was rushed to Brandon Humana Hospital, where he underwent surgery. The suspect, whose name was not released, remained at large.
