Aquinas, Lake Brantley champs

St. Thomas Aquinas defeated Bishop Moore 4-1 in the girls Class 3A state soccer final Saturday night. The loss prevented Bishop Moore from repeating as champion. Aquinas shut out Amy Gelt, who had scored 59 goals this year. Class 4A final: Lake Brantley won the 4A final, defeating Coconut Creek 1-0 at Bishop Moore High. Lake Brantley is the third team from Seminole County to win since 1985. In the loss, Coconut Creek outshot Lake Brantley 12-10. Tara Harding scored the goal for Lake Brantley with 28:00 left.
