EVANS, ORIS BRYAN, 89, of Homosassa, died Friday (Feb. 16, 1990). He was born in Vesterburg, Mich., and came here 25 years ago from Battle Creek, Mich. He was a retired engineer for the Michigan Carton Co. and a charter member of the Chassahowitzka Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Lena; a son, Waynard, Battle Creek; three stepsons, Virgil Goforth, Chassahowitzka, Roy Goforth, Battle Creek, and R. B. HOFMANN, GEORGE CHARLES, 61, of Floral City, died Friday (Feb. 16, 1990). He came here 13 years ago from his native Long Island, N.Y. He was a retired New York City police patrolman, a World War II Army veteran, assistant chief of the Floral City Fire Department, a member of the Police Benevolent Association and a Lutheran. Survivors include his wife, Vera Norell; a son, Robert Jilnicki, Floral City; five daughters, Toni Maguire, Barbara Ellison and Vera Siegfried, all of Floral City, Paula Simmonds, Homosassa, and Gail Fiore, Huntington, N.Y.; his mother, Rose Hofmann, New York; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. PHETTERPLACE, EDDIE JAY, 63, of Homosassa, died Wednesday (Feb. 14, 1990). He was born in Bradford, Pa., and moved to Homosassa in 1985 from New Port Richey. He was a retired carpenter, served in the Army during World War II and was a Protestant.
