Ruth M. Easley, mother of official

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Moss-Feaster Guardian Funeral Home, Dunedin Chapel, for Ruth M. Easley, 86. Mrs. Easley was the mother of Kenneth E. Easley, general counsel for the Department of Professional Regulation in Tallahassee and former Belleair Bluffs city attorney. He was the attorney for the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority from its inception in 1971 until 1987.

Her daughter-in-law, Betty Easley, is a public service commissioner in Tallahassee and former legislator who represented Pinellas County for 14 years.

Mrs. Easley, who died Thursday, was a native of Nashville, Tenn., and came here in 1979 from Marshalltown, Iowa, where she was a laboratory technician.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Dunedin, and Order of the Eastern Star Dunedin Chapter 132.

Other survivors include her husband, Murwin L.; a brother, Levi Montgomery, Dearborn, Mich.; three sisters, Bernice Nichols, Stockton, Calif., Aileene Zook, Largo, and Jessie Lois Gambill, Clearwater; a granddaughter, Kimberly Grant, Dallas; and a great-grandson.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. today, and an Eastern Star service will be held at 3 p.m.
