Barry may be headed for Betty Ford Center

D.C. Mayor Marion Barry, who Sunday marked his 28th day at an addiction treatment facility in West Palm Beach, plans to leave that program Wednesday for another clinic, possibly the Betty Ford Center in California, administration officials said. Barry, who became a patient at the Hanley-Hazelden Center four days after his Jan. 18 drug arrest, was visited Sunday by City Administrator Carol B. Thompson and his chief of staff, Maudine R. Cooper. Barry is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday to answer an eight-count drug and perjury indictment, but sources said they were uncertain whether he will attend the arraignment or go directly to a new clinic.Havel to meet with Bush

WASHINGTON _ Vaclav Havel, the dissident playwright who went from prison to the presidency of Czechoslovakia in eight months, will meet with President Bush today. His U.S. visit is the first by Eastern Europe's new democratic leaders and the first by a Czechoslovak head of state. Havel will address a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, then travel to New York for business and political meetings. Related story, 7A
