Candidates sought for county advisory groups

The County Commission has an opening on the Freedom from Architectural Barriers Board. Applicants must be residents and registered voters of Hernando County, and have experience working with handicapped people. Applications may be obtained from the County Administrator's Office, Room 460, 20 N Main St. in Brooksville. Applications must be returned by Thursday. This is a full-time, voluntary, non-compensatory position.

The county also is seeking people interested in serving on a Special Task Force on Corrections to make observations and recommendations about the facilities, functions and organization of the Hernando County Jail.

Interested people must be residents and registered voters of Hernando County and have some knowledge or background in corrections. Letters of interest, including a resume, should be sent to the Office of the County Administrator, Room 460, 20 N Main St., Brooksville 34601, no later than March 2.
