An 82-year-old Ohio man who was walking his daughter's dog Sunday morning was bitten by three pit bullterriers after they charged out of a yard and attacked the dog, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report. Lamont Krimmer, of Lake Milton, Ohio, was bitten by the pit bullterriers as he and the owner of the pit bulls tried to pull them off the other dog, the report said. Krimmer was treated for several puncture wounds at HCA Bayonet Point/Hudson Medical Center. The dog that Krimmer was walking also was injured and was taken to a veterinarian.
Krimmer was walking the dog about 8:45 a.m. Sunday on St. Croix Drive, the report said. Krimmer walked by 91 St. Croix Drive, where Don North, 38, has three pit bullterriers. The dogs charged out of the yard and attacked the other dog, with Krimmer and North finally pulling the dogs apart. North told Sheriff's Office deputies that the dogs had received rabies shots last March.
Animal Control officials said rabies shots are good for a year, but the officer handling the case could not be reached for comment.
The report did not say where Krimmer's daughter lives.
