Woman reportedly beaten with pistol

A Tampa woman told deputies she was beaten with a pistol by her ex-boyfriend in her home early Sunday, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report. Rhodda Traletta Gaunt, 20, told deputies the man came to her home at 13727 Gragston Circle about 2:50 a.m. Sunday, according to the report. Gaunt said the two argued, and he hit her in the face and head with a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol, threatening to kill her, sheriff's Capt. Richard Cipriano said. Gaunt refused medical treatment.

Sheriff's Lt. Kenneth Allen said deputies were looking for the assailant but had not issued a warrant for him.
