Woman shot while sleeping

A 37-year-old Dover woman who was shot in the right shoulder as she slept was in stable condition Monday at Humana Hospital-Brandon, authorities said. Lucia Flores, 3216 State Route 574, was asleep Saturday in her mobile home when a .22-caliber rifle slug pierced her bedroom wall. Deputies said a 17-year-old boy, who lives nearby, fired one shot at 11:50 p.m. at three boys who were trying to break into his mother's car. The 17-year-old was charged as a juvenile with attempted manslaughter with a firearm, deputies said. He was released into his parents' custody, said sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter. The three boys, 13, 14, and 15 years old, were held by neighbors until deputies arrived. Carter said she did know what the boys were charged with; she did not identify them.Lutz homes vandalized

About 45 minutes later and less than two miles away, Thomas and Mary Abosida were watching television in their home at 1001 Crenshaw Lake Road when a similar ball crashed through their window, Mrs. Abosida said.
