Medical center names chief executive officer

Dan F. Ausman has been promoted to chief executive officer of Women's Medical Center in Seminole. Ausman had served as the center's administrator since April 1989. Prior to that, he had been administrator at Lake Seminole Hospital. Maureen B. Hunt has been named chief operations officer of Women's Medical Center. She formerly was assistant administrator of Central Plains Regional Hospital in Plainview, Texas.

Maria Picun is associate

Maria Picun has joined Bobby Byrd Real Estate in Clearwater as a Realtor associate.

Ms. Picun is a member of the Belleair Bluffs Business and Professional Association and the Belleair Bluffs Boosters Association. In addition to selling real estate full time, she owns the Convenient Food Mart in Belleair Bluffs. She is studying business at St. Petersburg Junior College.

Cloy B. Lee is appointed

to Ellis Hospital board

Cloy B. Lee has been appointed to the board of directors of Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs. Mrs. Lee is to fill the unexpired term of Lulamae Wolfe, who resigned from the board in December after she was elected to the Tarpon Springs City Commission.

Mrs. Lee has a nursing diploma from Cornell Hospital (New York) and an eduction degree from the University of Tennessee. She was an Army flight nurse from 1942 to 1946. Mrs. Lee has practiced nursing in New York, Tennessee and Florida.

Local men are honored

W. Prescott Seckel and Glenn H. Ruediger have been appointed to the President's Council of the Milwaukee-based company Blunt Ellis & Loewi Inc. The local office of Blunt Ellis & Loewi is in the First Florida Bank at 600 Cleveland St., Clear-water.

Seckel is a senior vice president and branch manager of the Clearwater office. He is a graduate of Princeton University and a member of the Clearwater Rotary Club. This is the eighth time he has attained membership in the President's Council.

Ruediger is a senior vice president of the Clearwater office and has been a member of the President's Council four times. He is a member of the Countryside-Clearwater Kiwanis Club.

Swope opens public

relations company

James E. Swope has formed Swope Public Relations at Bay Park Executive Center, 1442 U.S. 19 S, Suite 150, Clearwater. The company offers public relations counseling and marketing communications services.

Swope previously served as vice president and manager of the public relations division of Pearson, Thomas, Levy, King & White Advertising in Tampa. He also has managed public relations activities for Hospice Care Inc. and an advertising and public relations agency now known as FKQ Advertising.

Sun Coast Hospital

names financial officer

Bill Carpenter has been named chief financial officer of Sun Coast Hospital in Largo. Carpenter has a master's degree in accounting from Tulane Graduate School of Business in New Orleans. He majored in mathematics at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
