The owners of the Minnesota North Stars, seeking permission to move their NHL franchise to the West Coast, said the Twin Cities has treated the team like outcasts. Gordon and George Gund spent several hours Tuesday before a seven-member National Hockey League committee charged with investigating the team's request to move the financially strapped franchise to the San Francisco Bay aea.
"What we've done wrong is labor long and hard and spent a lot of money," said Gordon Gund.
Earlier, the league's board of governors recessed its meeting until March 19 when it will reconvene to consider the essential terms of NHL expansion.
Because the four-team expansion by the year 2000 parallels the North Stars' proposed move, that request also will be acted on at the March meeting when the committee reports its findings and recommedations.
