Awards and promotions

First Lt. Richard A. Lipsey has been decorated with the Air Force Achievement Medal at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. The medal is awarded to airmen for meritorious service, acts of courage, or other accomplishments. Lipsey is a program manager with the 1974th Communications Group. He is the son of Herbert J. and Phyllis L. Lipsey of Dade City. The lieutenant is a 1981 graduate of Pasco Comprehensive High School and a 1985 graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.

Samuel B. Petters has been commissioned a second lieutenant through the Air Force ROTC program and earned a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, La.

Petters is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clement E. Petters of Dade City.

Army Spec. Steven M. Parisian has been awarded the Good Conduct Medal at Fort Bragg, N.C. The award was presented for exemplary conduct while in active service of the United States. Parisian is an infantryman with the 505th Infantry Regiment.

He is the son of Leonard J. and Marge R. Parisian of Port Richey.

Air Force Senior Airman Scott D. Ramsauer has been awarded the Good Conduct Medal at Homestead Air Force Base. Ramsauer is a tactical aircraft maintenance specialist with the 31st Aircraft Generation Squadron.

He is the son of Richard D. Ramsauer, Bronx, N.Y., and Carol L. Ramsauer of Port Richey. The airman is a 1985 graduate of Hudson High School.

Spec. Douglas A. Britton has been decorated with the Army Achievement Medal in Italy. Britton is an anti-armor weapons infantryman with the 325th Infantry.

He is the son of Vicki S. Britton of Michigan and David L. Britton of Dade City.

Yeoman 3rd Class Dustin E. Hughes was promoted to his current rank by Rear Admiral R.

C. Allen in ceremonies held on board the Mayport-based carrier USS Forrestal, which is on deployment in the Mediterranean Sea.

He is the son of Dewey and Sharon Hughes of Hudson. He attended Hudson High School.

Marine Cpl. Albert G. Garza has been promoted to his current rank and re-enlisted for four years while serving at 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Cherry Point, N.C.

Garza is the son of Albert and Janie Garza of Dade City. He is a 1986 graduate of Pasco Comprehensive High School.

James L. Rinehart has been promoted in the Air Force to staff sergeant. Rinehart is a base service store supervisor at Moody Air Force Base, Ga., with the 347th Supply Squadron.

He is the son of Patricia Y. Best of Georgia and Kenneth J. Rinehart of New Port Richey.

Pvt. Anthony R. Snyder has completed military police training at the Army Military Police School, Fort McClellan, Ala. He is the son of Joan A. Snyder of Hudson. The private is a 1989 graduate of Hudson High School.

Pvt. David A. Seip Jr. has completed military police training at the Army Military Police School, Fort McClellan, Ala. He is the son of Pauline H. and Jerome A. Monk of Dade City. The private is a 1989 graduate of Pasco Comprehensive High School.

Senior Master Sgt. Paul T. Placko has graduated from the nine-week Air Force senior non-commissioned office academy at Gunter Air Force Station, Ala. Placko is an assistant propulsion branch chief with the 463rd Field Maintenance Squadron, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas.

He is the son of Paul and Iva Placko of Hudson.

Pvt. Robert L. Tiller has received the parachutist badge upon completion of the three-week airborne course at the Army Infantry School in Fort Benning, Ga. Tiller is the son of B.

J. Monetti of Zephyrhills and Carl Tiller of Houston. He is a 1983 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School, St. Petersburg.

Pvt. Charles N. Jones has graduated from the cargo specialist course at the Army Transportation School, Fort Eustis, Va. He is the son of William H. and Paulette T. Reynolds of Dade City.

Navy Lt.j.g. Penny L. Rachiell has completed the Officer Indoctrination School at the Naval Education and Training Center, Newport, R.I. She is the daughter of Harold W. and Lois M. Rachiell of Port Richey.

Staff Sgt. Herbert L. Smith has graduated from the Air Force non-commissioned officer leadership school. Smith is a crew chief with the 363rd Aircraft Generation Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C.

He is the son of Harvey C. and Kaye A. Smith of Zephyrhills. The sergeant is a 1979 graduate of Zephyrhills Senior High School.

Airman John V. Provost has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He is the son of Marcellyn Hayes of Washington and Thomas E. Provost of Zephyrhills.

Sgt. Roger K. Bullis Jr. has graduated from the Air Force non-commissioned officer leadership school. Bullis is an accounting and finance administration supervisor assigned in Ramstein, West Germany.

His wife, Air Force Sgt. Lisa A. Bullis, is the daughter of Rillia Ferlita of Hudson.

Marine Lance Cpl. Gus J. Morris has completed the six-week Basic Helicopter Course at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Millington, Tenn. He is the son of Howard J. and Maria Morris of Hudson. He was a 1988 graduate of Hudson High School.

Pvt. David J. Stamper completed basic training at Fort Dix, N.J. Stamper is the son of Gary L. and Susan M. Stamper of Port Richey. He is a 1989 graduate of Ridgewood High School.

Pvt. Kim M. Kirbach has completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. She is the daughter of Eleanor Savio and stepdaughter of Kenneth Savio of Port Richey.

Airman James R. McLemore has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. McLemore is the son of LaMoyne E. McLemore of Dade City.

Airman Charles F. Fetterolf has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He is the son of Cheryl L. Fetterolf of Michigan and Richard N. Fetterolf of New Port Richey.

On duty

Army Pvt. 1st Class Carl R. Johnson Jr. has arrived for duty in South Korea. Johnson is an electronic warfare specialist with the 2nd Infantry Division. He is the son of Shirley F. Ross of Marianna and brother of Tamara R. Marquez of New Port Richey. The private is a 1985 graduate of Gulf High School.

Army Private Travis T. Eckard has arrived for duty at Fort Stewart, Ga. Eckard is a cannon crewman with the 14th Field Artillery. He is the son of Karen J. and Bill Weakland of Hudson. He is a 1989 graduate of Hudson High School.

Army Spec. Charles E. Berry has arrived for duty in South Korea. Berry is a multichannel communications system operator with the 2nd Infantry Division. He is the son of Florence M. Berry and nephew of A.

J. Gray, both of Dade City. He is a 1980 graduate of Pasco Comprehensive High School.

Marine Master Sgt. Arthur L. Leedale recently participated in exercise "Kernel Usher" while serving with 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Enlistments

Spec. Douglas S. Keppel has re-enlisted in the Army in West Germany for three years. Keppel is a radio repairer with the 703rd Support Battalion. He is the son of Douglas H. and Cynthia B. Keppel of Zephyrhills. His wife, Ruby, is the daughter of John C. Mihalakis Sr. of Zephyrhills. He is a 1986 graduate of Zephyrhills High School.
