SOUTH PINELLAS BAKER, ALICE PHOEBE, 88, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (May 12, 1990) at Edward White Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis and came here in 1942 from Cincinnati. Locally, she was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Robert E., St. Petersburg; two sisters, Clara McDaniel, Bell, and Ruth Gerhardt, Cincinnati; and a granddaughter, Natalie Baker Guida, New Jersey. BANN, PATRICIA J., 54, of 4571 53rd Ave. N, St. Petersburg, died Saturday (May 12, 1990) at Humana Hospital-Northside, after a long illness. She was born in New York and came here in 1980 from Toms River, N.J. Survivors include two sons, Alan and Glen, St. Petersburg; a daughter, April Thompson, Ocean Gate, N.J.; and a grandson. BROWN, LACY VIRGINIA, 82, of Pinellas Park, died Sunday (May 13, 1990) at Morningside Sanitorium. A native of Arcade, N.Y., she came here in 1980 from New York City, where she was a bookkeeper. Survivors include four daughters, Janice Hansen, LaPorte, Ind., Francis Adams, Indianapolis, Elizabeth Highland, Rochester, N.Y, and Alice Lee, Newark, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren. Alan R. CLEVER, CARL OTTO, 70, of Whetstone Apartments, Pinellas Park, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at his residence. He was born in Flint, Mich., and came here in 1985 from Las Vegas, Nev. He was a retired historian for the U.S. Army Pacific Command. During World War II, he served in the Army. Survivors include three sisters, Lois Erikson, Pinellas Park, and Anita McDonald and Joan Jenkins, Flint, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Derby, Battle Creek, Mich.; a stepson, Kim Juranek, Merritt Island; and two grandchildren. COBLE, DENNIS RAY, 40, of 1000 Seventh St. N, St. Petersburg, died Saturday (May 5, 1990) at his residence of a gunshot wound. He was born in Cordele, Ga., and was a construction carpenter. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps. Survivors include a son, Dennis Ray Jr., and a daughter, Veronica Lynn Coble Knox, both of Forest Park, Ga.; and two granddaughters, Amanda and Casandra. COLBERT, BRIAN KEITH, 34, of Gainesville and a native of St. Petersburg, died Friday (May 4, 1990) at Shands Teaching Hospital, Gainesville, of gunshot wounds. He moved to Gainesville 1{ years ago from Salt Springs. He was a maintenance engineer at O'Brien Apartments in Gainesville, where he was shot. He was a graduate of Dixie Hollins High School and was a Protestant. He served in the Navy. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Nichols Colbert, a stepdaughter, Daley Thompson, and a stepson, Grey Thompson, all of Gainesville; his mother, Carol A. Galvez, Newport, Tenn.; his father, William R. Colbert, Blairsville, Ga.; three sisters, Katherine L. Cannon, Atlanta, Robin Anne Overbay, Stockton, Calif., and Michelle Penalosa, St. Petersburg; a brother, Michael A. CROSBY, EDWARD L., 83, of St. Petersburg, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at St. Anthony's Hospital. A native of Jersey City, N.J., he came here in 1969 from Bogota, N.J. He was a retired production mechanic for the American Can Co. Survivors include a sister, Harriet Bolles, Palm Harbor; two brothers, Arthur, St. Petersburg, and Herbert, Colona, N.J.; and a granddaughter, Heather Crosby, Tennessee. Alan R. DROZDOWICZ, JERZY M. "JERRY," 54, of 2475 38th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at Humana Hospital-Northside. He was born in Warsaw, Poland, and came here in 1985 from Houston, Texas. Locally, he was a maintenance man for the Bayshore Yacht and Tennis Club. He was a Catholic. HANNA, ADELAIDE T., 71, of St. Petersburg, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was born in Marshfield, Mass., and came here in 1956 from Dallas, Texas. Locally, she was a cosmetologist at Laddie's Beauty Shop and was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Cathedral. Survivors include her husband, Clarence E.; two sons, James R. Murray, Pensacola, and Thomas M. Murray, Vulcan, Mich.; a daughter, Marion Murray Jay, Fitzgerald, Ga.; two sisters, Laura Patterson, Largo, and Elizabeth Heemsath, St. Petersburg; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. KVAPIL, MAURICE "MARCY," 75, of 9488 50th Way N, Pinellas Park, died Wednesday (May 9, 1990) at MacDill Air Force Base Hospital, Tampa, where she was a daily volunteer for the hospital for 20 years. Born in Idabel, Okla., she came here in 1965 from England. She was a Catholic. Locally, she was a member of the Bath Club, Redington Beach. KOHN, MORRIS, of South Pasadena, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. He was born in Germany and came here in 1984 from New York City, where he was owner-operator of a supermarket. Locally, he was a member of Congregation B'nai Israel and was a Holocaust survivor. LUSTER, GLENN L., 82, of 3401 Gandy Blvd., Pinellas Park, died Tuesday (May 15, 1990) at St. Anthony's Hospital. Born in Sweetser, Ind., he came here in 1970 from Chicago, where he retired in 1969 as sales manager, after 35 years of service. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Lillian; a son, Gordon L., Pittsburgh; a daughter, Janis L. Patterson, Chicago; a sister, Thelma Stevens, Marion, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren. R. LYON, HENRY F., 74, of 7057 Versailles Place N, Pinellas Park, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at his residence. He came here in 1972 from his native Pontiac, Mich., where he was a clerk for General Motors. Locally, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the BPOE Pinellas Park Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Orvilla F.; three daughters, Karen Caldwell, Drayton Plains, Mich., Ann Zietlow Rogers, Pinellas Park, and Cleo Hungerford, Ortonville, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. MAHONY, LEO E., 85, of Redington Beach, died Sunday (May 13, 1990) at his residence. He was born in Sharon, Pa., and came here in 1945 from Dallas, Texas. Locally, he was a rehabilitation therapist for the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines. He did volunteer work for several charities. Survivors include a sister, Betty Hill, El Cajon, Calif. MOROFFKO, BERNARD L., 51, of St. Petersburg, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at his residence. He was born in Uniontown, Pa., and came here in 1957 from Cleveland. Locally, he was an automobile mechanic and attended Holy Family Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Joy C.; and his mother, Bertha Moroffko, St. Petersburg. Thomas J. PALMER, PARIS, 62, of 1730 44th St. S, St. Petersburg, died Sunday (May 13, 1990) at Bayfront Medical Center. He came here in 1939 from his native Vidette, Ga. He was a railroad worker. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his mother, Allie Palmer, St. Petersburg; a son, Paris Jr., and a daughter, Barbara T. YONGDAHL, KATHARINE B., 86, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (May 8, 1990) at Bon Secours Maria Manor. She came here in 1973 from Tampa, where she lived since 1966. BEARD, GEORGE W., 84, of 10900 Temple Ter., Seminole, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at Humana Hospital, St. Petersburg. He was born in Paterson, N.J., and came here in 1971 from Cleveland. He was an office clerk for 49 years with the Pennsylvania Railroad system. He was a member of Seminole United Methodist Church and Gaston-Allen Masonic Lodge, Lakewood, Ohio. DOTTO, MARY F., 84, of Largo, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at Largo Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Maynard, Ohio, and came here in 1966 from Ohio. GARBART, WILLIAM I., 40, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Clearwater, died Monday (May 7, 1990) at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. He was born in Washington, Pa., and came here in 1960 from Pennsylvania. He was a computer technician and a Vietnam War Navy veteran. GOW, LOIS TICE, 91, of Clearwater, died Friday (May 11, 1990) at Clearwater Community Hospital. She was born in Bloomfield, N.J., and came here in 1972 from Point Pleasant, N.J. She was a registered nurse for 25 years at Community Hospital, Montclair, N.J. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Clearwater, and its women's society. Survivors include a son, N. KROUT, RAYMOND THOMAS, 71, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (May 12, 1990) at home. He was born in Hardin, Ill., and came here in 1980 from Largo. He was a heavy equipment operator with the School Board of Pinellas County. He was a World War II Army veteran and a Protestant. Survivors include his wife, Bertha; a son, Raymond Thomas Jr., Largo; two daughters, Gloria Jean Baulm, North East, Pa., and Sandra Lynn Wright, Spring Hill; three brothers, Ross and William, Largo, and Fred, Springfield, Mo.; and three sisters, Goldie Sabine, Burlington, Iowa, Verna Adams, Largo, and Marie Bartlett, Hamburg, Ill. LaFRANCE, HOMER J., 74, of Clearwater, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at home. He was born in Centerdale, R.I., and came here in 1982 from Pensacola. He was a master sergeant in the Army and a World War II veteran. He was member of Light of Christ Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Elks, all in Clearwater. LEAVENGOOD, RAY EARL, 84, of Clearwater, died Sunday (May 13, 1990) at his residence. He was born in Athens, Mich., and came here in 1985 from Port Richey. Before retiring, he was a manager with the H.J. Heinz Co. in Detroit. Locally, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clearwater. Survivors include two daughters, Judith Mae King, Hendersonville, N.C., and Ann L. Guthrie, Southfield, Mich.; two brothers, Robert, Eugene, Ore., and Ernest, Chicago; and two grandchildren. MANSER, HARRY M., 91, of Largo, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at Manor Care of Dunedin. He came here in 1972 from his native Trenton, N.J. He was a retired Army colonel and a sales manager with Hill Refrigeration Co. in Trenton. He was a World War I Navy veteran and a World War II Army veteran. His memberships included Highland United Presbyterian Church, Clearwater, Masonic Lodge 5 F&AM, Scottish Rite and Crescent Temple, all in Trenton, Retired Officers Association and National Guard Association. MILLER, RHEA C., 78, of Safety Harbor, died Monday (May 14, 1990) at home. She was born in Michigan and came here in 1973 from Pleasantville, N.Y. She was a clerk with a police department. She was a Presbyterian. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Ann Pullen, Fort Myers, and Anita M. See, Randolph, Mass.; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson. NIXON, RUSSELL M., 84, of Clearwater, died Saturday (May 12, 1990) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He came here in 1975 from his native Newton, N.J. RAULERSON, WANDA CONNER, 65, of Spring Hill, formerly of Clearwater, died Friday (May 11, 1990) at HCA Bayonet Point Hospital. She moved to Clearwater in 1946 from her native Brooksville. She was a switchboard operator at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include four sons, Dennis, Georgia, Larry Starling, Butler, Ga., Steven and Darryl, both of Spring Hill; three daughters, Melissa Williams, Susan Marten and Stacie Wharton, all of Spring Hill; a brother, Mark Wayne Conner, Spring Hill; three sisters, Ellen McGarver, California, Lilly Brass, Brooksville, and Crystal Kendrick, Clearwater; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. RIPPE, HAROLD L., 77, of Largo, died Sunday (May 13, 1990) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He was born in Detroit and came here in 1945 from Taylor, Mich. He was a restaurant owner. TAYLOR, JAMES I., 57, of 12387 Jefferson Circle, Largo, died Friday (May 11, 1990) at home. He was born in Dania and came here in 1985 from Rochester, N.Y. He was a construction worker and a Korean War veteran. Survivors include two brothers, Robert, Largo, and George, Rochester; and three sisters, Blanche Jones, Fort Lauderdale, Emma Rochelle and Henrietta Warren, Dania. TUTHILL, KATHLEEN E., 75, of 567 Ulmerton Road, Largo, died Sunday (May 13, 1990) at Largo Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Kearny, N.J., and moved here in 1982 from Linden, N.J. She was a bookkeeper at John E. Runnells Hospital in Berkeley Heights, N.J. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Largo, and Order of the Eastern Star.
