The search is on for the employer and employees in Pinellas County who have contributed the most to the workplace for disabled workers. The search is part of a contest to heighten community awareness about contributions of disabled workers during October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
The contest is open to disabled workers in Pinellas County and Pinellas County businesses that give disabled individuals meaningful employment.
It is the award's fourth year. Winners will be honored at an 8 a.m. Oct. 30 ceremony at Holiday Inn-Airport, 3535 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater.
Anyone interested in nominating an employer or employee should call Bertha Owens at 545-4511 for nomination forms or more information.
The awards ceremony is open to the public; tickets are $8. Corporate tables are available.
The contest is sponsored by the Governor's Employment Alliance, the Workforce/Pinellas Private Industry Council, Florida Rehabilitation Association, and Suncoast chapters of Abilities, Inc.
