A Dunnellon race car driver was in fair condition Sunday after a race-stopping wreck at the Citrus County Speedway on Saturday night. Thomas Posavec of Dunnellon was pulled from his car with hydraulic equipment and was taken to Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness about 10:30 Saturday night after his car collided with another six laps into a 15-lap race. The driver of the other car appeared to be unharmed, said Jeff Tucker, communications supervisor for the Citrus County Sheriff's Department.Baby manatee seems healthy
HOMOSASSA _ A manatee born late Thursday or early Friday at the Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park remained in good health Sunday in an isolation area at the park along with its mother and another expectant female manatee. A park spokeswoman said the newborn's vital signs appeared to be normal Sunday afternoon. The unnamed calf is the second born to manatee Amanda.
