ERA Suncoast Realty in Crystal River recently named Harry Eck, broker/associate, Top Listing Associate for August; Janice Ayers, Realtor/associate, Top Selling Associate for August; Helen Green, broker/associate, Top Listing Associate for September; and Barbara McCaffrey, Realtor/associate, Top Selling Associate for September.Debra Pilny recently was named Associate of the Month for September at Kiser Realty in Inverness. Pilny, a Realtor/associate, has worked at Kiser for three years. She handles residential and commercial sales and listings. Pilny lives in Inverness.

Geraldine Hall, with Halls Accounting & Tax Service Inc. in Homosassa Springs, recently attended a three-day seminar in Orlando sponsored by the Florida Chapter of National Association of Tax Practitioners. The continuing education course focused on corporate federal and state tax returns. Hall is a member of the National Association of Tax Practitioners and the National Society of Public Accountants.

Henigar & Ray Inc. recently announced that Hans Blomberg, Mike Moore and Mark Morgan have joined the Crystal River firm. Blomberg attended Florida State University. Moore attended Montana College of Mineral Science & Technology, and Morgan attended the University of Delaware. Blomberg and Moore will be working with one of the engineering design teams, and Morgan will be working with the architecture division at Henigar & Ray.

J.W. Morton, broker/owner of Century 21 J.W. Morton Real Estate Inc., recently was honored with a Centurion award, the highest level of recognition for offices in the Century 21 system. Less than 2 percent of the more than 7,000 offices in the Century 21 system in the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Australia and Mexico earn Centurion status.


Citrus Cancer Diagnosis & Treatment Center Inc. recently opened. The new facility, located at 3406 N Lecanto Highway in Beverly Hills, offers the community state-of-the-art equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of all types of cancer. The business hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For information, call 746-1100.

Checkers, a restaurant in Crystal River, had grand-opening ceremonies at 253 SE Highway 19 on Saturday. As part of the grand opening, the Citrus County Cruisers displayed antique cars. Checkers gave away Checkers T-shirts and cups, with a purchase, to the first 300 customers.

The Citrus County Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the Inverness Christmas Parade will be held at noon Dec. 8. The theme for the parade is "An Old-Fashioned Christmas." Plaques will be presented in the following categories: Best Commercial Entry, Best Non-Commercial Entry, Best Religious Entry, Best Band, Best Marching Unit, Best Horse and Rider and the Judges Choice awards.
