Police arrested a 23-year-old St. Petersburg man Monday in the attempted murder of a man who was stabbed 18 times during an armed robbery. Police said Kenneth Ronez Griffin of 2326 Fourth Ave. S stabbed Jeffrey Campbell at 11:15 p.m. Thursday in the 2500 block of Central Avenue.
Campbell was stabbed five times in the chest, eight times in the back and five times in the arms, a police report said.
Campbell was hospitalized Monday in stable condition.
Griffin was jailed without bail Monday on charges of attempted homicide, armed robbery and failure to appear in court on a charge of drinking within 500 feet of a bar.
