The Richey Community Orchestra has announced the schedule of concerts for its 1990-91 season. A subscription series of four concerts will be presented. Three will be at the Pasco-Hernando Community College Performing Arts Center in New Port Richey and one will be a dinner concert at Spartan Manor.
Tickets for the concerts at the college are $5.30 in advance or $6.36 at the door. Tickets for the dinner and concert are $15.90.
Two free concerts are scheduled at 3 p.m. Nov. 10 at Sims Park in New Port Richey and from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 9 at Gulf View Square Mall in Port Richey.
The 50-piece orchestra comprises professional and amateur musicians. Conductor Vaughn Bean is a pianist, instrumentalist, composer and arranger.
The first concert in the series is titled "Salute to America" and is scheduled for 8 p.m. Nov. 11 at the college, 7505 Moon Lake Road, New Port Richey. The concert will be a tribute to veterans, with a program of patriotic music. Trumpeter Charley Raymond will be the guest artist.
Raymond toured with the Royal Viking Cruise Line this summer in the Far East and the Caribbean.
The dinner concert is scheduled for Jan. 13. Violinist Nadia Koutzen will be featured at the Classical Concert on Feb. 24, and the last concert at the college will be April 14, with Bobby Palermo as the special guest.
