A wallet police said was left at a rape victim's house led to the arrest Monday of a 19-year-old Largo man. Benjamin J. Acosta of 1708 Madrid Drive SW was charged with sexual battery, armed burglary, aggravated battery and robbery. He was being held in lieu of $120,000 bail at the Pinellas County Jail.
The rape occurred about 1:40 a.m. Monday at a house in southwest Largo. A woman was attacked by a man who broke in by removing a window air-conditioning unit, Largo police said.
Armed with a knife, the man also took $10 from the 38-year-old woman. She was treated for a cut she received on her hand during the attack, police said.
Detectives identified the suspect from a wallet the attacker left behind and went to his house to arrest him.
