Volunteers needed for bay replanting
HERNANDO _ Save Kings Bay, a Crystal River environmental group, plans to collect aquatic grasses from the waters of Hernando Beach on Saturday for replanting in Kings Bay. The harvested eel grass first will be planted in buckets and covered with water. At a later date, the group plans to uproot hydrilla _ a non-native plant _ from Kings Bay and replace it with the eel grass. Volunteers are needed to collect the grass and to take it home in a bucket and raise it. The grass is in ankle-deep to 10-feet-deep water. Anyone who wants to help should arrive at 11 a.m. at Hernando Beach.
