The owners of Boyette Grove, the combination petting zoo and citrus grove on Spring Lake Highway in Hernando County, are offering a $100 reward for the return of Bobo, a 4-year-old Japanese snow monkey stolen sometime Sunday night. "No questions asked," said co-owner Katherine Oleson.
A thief or thieves cut the lock on the gate leading to Bobo's cage and removed two bolts holding the cage door shut. Oleson said it would be difficult to sell the animal to a pet shop because a permit to keep the monkey is required.
"We just want Bobo back here because Bobo's kind of shy. He's young, he's not very worldly, and he's never been in the wild," Oleson said.
