A contest is under way in Pinellas County to heighten community awareness about contributions of disabled workers during October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The contest is open to disabled workers in Pinellas County and to Pinellas County employers who give meaningful employment to disabled individuals. The winners will be recognized as the employer and employee who have contributed the most to the work place for disabled workers.
It is the award's fourth year. Winners will be honored at an 8 a.m. awards ceremony Tuesday at Holiday Inn-Airport, 3535 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater.
Anyone interested in nominating an employer or employee for this award should contact Bertha Owens at 545-4511 for nomination forms or information.
