Clearwater's Upper takes lead at PGA Club Professional Classic

Brett Upper of Clearwater shot his second straight 67 to take a one-stroke lead after three rounds at the PGA Club Professional Classic. Upper, of Feather Sound Country Club, is 10-under par for the tournament at 206. Mel Baum of Larchmont, N.Y., the first-round leader, is one stroke back after shooting a 69 Thursday. Second-round leader Bob Ford of Oakmont, Pa., struggled to a 72 and is in a group of three golfers at 209.

Upper is a six-year veteran of the PGA Tour and leads the points race for PGA Club Professional Player of the Year.
